Investigating Habitats.
What had loads of fun and learned so much. We became environmental detectives and armed with hand lenses, reference books, printed web pages, nets, small containers, paint brushes, pooters and recording grids we stealthily combed the local area searching for mini beasts. Our main aim was to find out what lived where, why and who with? Dangerous snooping!
|
Back in the classroom we devised a branching data- base and organised and input all our data; the observations and comparisons. This was a great help when we attempted to identify and name the local
mini- beasts. |
The skills we used having all this fun were countless: observing, comparing, Inferring, researching, explaining, analysing and evaluating evidence, recording, organising data, working cooperatively, communicating, logical thinking, drawing conclusions.
We can't wait to do this again. |
